Genesis 2:25 - 3:10

Sermon Notes:
The fig leaves Adam and Eve used to cover their guilt were not sufficient enough to do the work needed to be done. The leaves could not cover the guilt they felt and most of all, the leaves could not cover and deal with the sin. Any effort made by man to cover sin and guilt will never be enough.

Sometimes we hide behind excuses and other things because we are afraid that if ew let other people know about our sin, for the purpose of healing, that we will not find the grace we need in the bosy of Christ. This idea in our minds can overflow to our view of God.

We ofter view ourselves as sinners bound by sin and/or define who we are by our past instead of seeing ourselves for who we really are: a child of God who struggles or who has a blemished past but are now made new.

Because our efforts fail to cover sin and guilt God stepped in, not just to cover but to remove sin and guilt.

Our focus needs to be on the Life Giver so we can have life.

The issue of nakedness for Adam and Eve was never again an issue once God stepped in. They were no longer disqualified from God's plan once God dealt with the sin issue.

When we label oursleves, the consequences are a reflection of those labels. When we label oursleves as sinners it leads to death. When we label ourselves as a child of the King, a new creation, even though we may struggle, that label has a consequence of erternal life.
