To open the sermon Pastor Nathan reads the story of Mary, Joseph, and Jesus went to Jerusalem and Jesus stayed behind at the temple. After reading the text Pastor Nathan goes through some of the detail and back story of what was happening in the text.
Sometimes people look at Jesus and see him as someone who was always at odds with those around him as he preached the good news. When in actual fact he was also with people in times of celebration and times of sorrow.
In the passage we see that Jesus had to live in accordance with the season of life he was in. Just as Jesus did, so do we.
